Punchinello Butterfly (Zemeros flegyas)
The wings of the Punchinello Butterflies change their color as well as their pattern definition from one season to another as many tropical butterflies do. In wet seasons the wings are generally dull and carry smaller patterns, the opposite is true for dry seasons as the wings wind up with more colours and clearer patterns. The difference in color and pattern definition doesn’t stop here but is further varied between male and female butterflies. Punchinellos can be found in Penang hill’s wild areas, trails, as well as Penang hill’s Entopia butterfly farm.
