Purple Rain Orchid (Dendrobium anosmum)
A dazzling native orchid with raspberry scented flowers which is widespread across Southeast Asia. The Purple Rain Orchid grows on trees as epiphytes with its cane like stems dangling down from the tree’s branches. It is deciduous, with leaves being shed during the drier months of the year, shortly before the pale purple flowers emerge from the stem nodes. Widely cultivated by hobbyists, the Purple Rain Orchid thrives in areas with a distinct dry season.
